Troop 63 is a smaller unit with Scouts from Rodney Thompson Middle School, H.H. Poole Middle School, AG Wright Middle School, St. William of York, North Stafford High School, Colonial Forge High School, and Mountain View High School. The youth lead troop meets every Wednesday night at Kate Waller Barrett Elementary School.
Troop 63 is an active troop that engages in camping, hiking, biking trips, indoor rock-climbing adventures and much more. Troop 63 focuses on leadership skills by providing opportunities for advancement, training and individual growth.
Troop 63 has traveled to Philmont Scout Ranch in New Mexico, The Summit Bechtel Reserve in West Virginia and many other locations for scouting adventures. During the summer months, Scouts have the opportunity to attend BSA summer camp. There they can earn multiple merit badges while enjoying outdoor activities such as swimming, sailing, canoeing, and archery.
New Scouts are placed into a New Scout Patrol which focuses on scout skills to assist them with earning their Scout, Tenderfoot, Second and First Class Ranks.
