We serve youth in Maineville, Ohio and the surrounding area. The Cub Scout program is open to children grades K-5. Our goal is to help children grow up to be dependable, enthusiastic and determined; Scouts grow and learn through experiences that involve decisions and discoveries for themselves. The program is carried out through the ideals of Cub Scouts that support the aim of helping each Scout develop to their fullest potential through individual and group experiences.

If you are interested in more information regarding the Pack, please click here to email our Committee Chair, Jill Johnson.

Are you looking for ways to get involved with the Pack, or wondering how you can contribute to your Scout's experience with Pack 417? Then look no further...we have the following opportunities available:
  • Committee Member - We are always looking for fresh ideas and perspectives on the Committee, and all are welcome to participate. The Committee meets the 1st Wednesday of the month at DUMC at 7:30pm.
  • Pinewood Derby Committee - One of our premier events during the year is the Pinewood Derby and we are in need of 4 or 5 volunteers to help us with Pinewood Derby. Volunteers would be asked to help with anything from track set up, car weigh-ins, decorations, as well as helping us run the event the day of. Please see the Pinewood Derby page for further information on the event.
  • Blue and Gold Committee - Each year we celebrate the birthday of the founding of Scouting in the U.S. by having a Blue and Gold Banquet. This is traditionally a dinner or lunch (either catered or potluck) where the entire family is encouraged to attend. We are looking for 4 or 5 volunteers to help us find a location, plan the meal, layout the agenda for the event inclusive of some form of entertainment, decorations, communications to the Pack, and so forth.
  • Spring Camp Out Committee - Our second camping opportunity is the Spring camp out in connection with Pack 617 at Camp Friedlander. We are looking for 2 pr 3 volunteers to help us plan the Spring camp out, inclusive of planning meals, planning activities, working through and communicating logistics, and helping to develop a campfire program.
If any of the above volunteer opportunities interest you, please let our Committee Chair (Jill Johnson), Cub Master (Chad Boyd), or Assistant Cub Master (Erin Modesto) know. I also want to give a big thank you now to everyone who volunteers, as the Pack is completely run by volunteers, your help is critical to our success!!
